Cripple sells drugs, nabbed

April 12, 2019

A crippled man who used his physical disability to sell illegal drugs was arrested in a buy-bust operation before dawn yesterday in Navotas City.

Navotas police chief P/Col. Rolando Balasabas said Renato Rosita, 48, of Everlasting St., Bgy. San. Roque was nabbed by elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at around 1 a.m. after he handed a plastic sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P200 marked money.

Col. Balasabas said operatives of SDEU received a tip from their informant that the suspect, whose right leg was amputated, was selling illegal drugs prompting P/Lt. Eric Roxas to conduct a surveillance operation.

After they confirmed the information, a buy-bust operation was conducted that resulted in the arrest of Rosita. The buy bust money and another plastic sachet containing an undetermined quantity of shabu were recovered from his possession.

Charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspect before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office.
