The victim, a kagawad at Barangay 163, Zone 14, Tondo, died instantly due to a gunshot wound in the head.
P/Master Sgt. Jansen Rey San Pedro of the Manila Police District-homicide section said the incident took place at 12:20 a.m. near the victim’s residence on J. Planas Street in Tondo.
Based on a footage taken by a closed circuit television (CCTV), the victim was shown standing all by himself when he suddenly pulled out a gun, pointed it to his head and then fired the gun but it jammed. Moments later, he again pointed the gun to his head but this time around, it went off.
