A man, who was suffering from depression due to financial problem, committed suicide by hanging himself inside the stockroom of their house before dawn yesterday in Valenzuela City.
The body of Arwin Inocencio, 39, utility worker at Pamantasang Lungsod ng Valenzuela, was discovered by his sister Kristine hanging inside the stockroom of their house situated beside their house at 33 Dr. Pio Valenzuela St., Parancillo Villa at around 1:40 a.m.
Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. David Nicolas Poklay said the victim’s sister was about to close the door of their house when she noticed that their stockroom’s door was partially opened, prompting her to check and was surprised to see her brother hanging with an electric cord looped around his neck while the other end was tied to the wooden beam.
Kristine immediately sought the help of patrolling barangay watchmen who helped her cut the wire then tried but failed to revive the victim.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered a written note from the victim’s pocket which read “Cause of Death, Bangungot, Tnx”, which Kristine certified that it was her brother’s handwriting.
