Drug-pushing triker slain

February 28, 2019

A 30-year-old tricycle driver allegedly involved in drug pushing was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding male suspects while walking near a computer shop on Visayan Street in Sampaloc, Manila the other night.

Investigation by PO3 Marlon San Pedro of the Manila Police District -homicide section showed that the shooting may have been due to the fatality’s failure to remit drug sales.

Sherwin  Reyes, of 924 Norma St., Sampaloc, Manila, was said to have been walking in the said area at around 8:10  p.m. when the suspects arrived and shot the victim repeatedly.

When the victim fell to the ground, the suspects again fired at him and then sped away. He died instantly due to gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Barangay Kagawad Lolita Merin told the police that Reyes surrendered to the barangay’s ‘Operation Tokhang’ in 2016.

The suspects remain undentified while the victim was brought to the funeral parlor for autopsy and safekeeping.
