Drug suspect killed, 2 cohorts fall in QC

A DRUG suspect who was also wanted for violation of RA 9262 (Violence Against Women and Children Act) was killed when he was about to shoot a police operative during a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City on Wednesday.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director PBGen Ronnie S Montejo said Carlito Dela Cruz, of legal age, was neutralized following a scuffle with an operative when he resisted arrest.

His cohorts identified Rexsydee Coralde, 30, and Ronnie Laporteza, 37, both residents of Bgy. Pinayahan were arrested.

The report showed that PS 10 headed by PLtCol Bernouli Abalos received information from a confidential informant about the illegal drug peddling activity of Dela Cruz also known as alias “Bunso/ Tolyts”.

A buy-bust was set at about 5:10 p.m. May 27,2020 at No.53-A, Mapangakit St. Bgy. Pinayahan wherein a police acted as a poseur buyer and bought P500 from Dela Cruz.

At the given pre-arrange signal, Dela Cruz was placed under arrest but he resisted. He pulled out a handgun and a scuffle ensued with the operative who was also quick to draw his service firearm fired a shot at the suspect on the chest.

The suspect was immediately rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival. His ohorts were brought to PS 10 for disposition.

The arresting officers seized from the suspects two grams of shabu valued at P13,400.00, two digital weighing scales, a caliber .38 revolver without serial no. loaded with five ammunition, a cellular phone, a Yamaha Mio motorcycle and cash amounting to P600. The QC-SOCO team recovered a sachet of shabu and the buy-bust money from the slain suspect.
