
Drug suspect shot dead in Tondo bust
A DRUG suspect said to be on the watchlist of the Manila Police District, was killed in a buy-bust operation in Tondo, Manila over the weekend.
The police team led by P/ Lt.Col. Magno Gallora Jr., Station Commander of the MPD-Moriones Police Station 2, shot dead Ernesto Illedo, alias “Omeng,” of 1299 Almeda St., Tondo.
The shooting took place at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday near the corner of Yakal and Yuseco Streets in Tondo.
During the buy-bust operation, Illedo reportedly sensed he was dealing with a cop and drew a gun, prompting the cop poseur-buyer to shoot him even before the could fire.
Recovered from Illedo was an improvised handgun Smith & Wesson 9mm revolver loaded with three live ammunition.
Police said they also found on him five plastic sachets containing 11.61 grams of shabu worth P78,948 and a the P500 marked bill.
