Drug trafficker nabbed with P1.4M shabu

A SUSPECTED big-time drug trafficker was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in a buy-bust operation which led to the seizure of P1.4 million worth of shabu Monday night in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

PDEA Chair Director General Aaron N. Aquino said Abel Busian, of Block 11, Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila, was arrested after he sold the drugs to an undercover officer of the PDEA National Capital Region on Remegio Street in Sta. Cruz at around 11 p.m.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 200 grams of shabu and the marked money paid to him by an undercover officer.

The suspect is now  held at the PDEA detention facility in Quezon City facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old Grade 10 student of Arellano University was arrested for possession of a sachet of marijuana while inside the university on Legarda Street in Sampaloc, Manila.

Lito Sancho, a roving guard, said he saw the suspect holding marijuana with fruiting tops. He immediately arrested the student and then brought to the security office which then turned him over to the police.

In Quezon City, Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel said policemen under Lt. Col. Rossel Cejas of Novaliches Police Station 4 arrested suspects Orly Sandagon, 38, Mary Ann Espina, 22, Jernel Devera, 20, Eden Bulanadi, all from Bgy. San Agustin; Ricardo Espina, 20, Jay-Ar Bulanadi and Rommel dela Cruz of Bgy. Nova, in a buy-bust at No. 12 Malvar Street, Bgy. San Agustin, at around 9:30 p.m. The suspects yielded 15 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P340,000.

Seven more suspects were also arrested in another operation at a parking lot beside Queensberry Hospital on Ramirez St., Bgy. Nova Proper, Novaliches.
