A suspected drug addict was shot and seriously wounded when he tried to resist from three robbers who robbed him of his money shortly before midnight yesterday in Malabon City.
Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said Henry Reyes 36, tarpaulin maker and resident of Block 7, Lot 23, Novaliches, Quezon City was rushed to Tondo Medical Center where he was placed in critical condition due to a lone bullet wound in the neck while one of the suspects, identified as Samuel Moises of Bgy. Tanong, with two unidentified cohorts, managed to escape after the incident.
Homicide investigators P/MSgt. Julius Mabasa and P/MSgt. Jeric Tindugan said that earlier at around 12:15 a.m., the victim went to the house of suspected drug pusher Toto Belarma along Estrella Street, Bgy. Tanong to buy P200 worth of shabu.
After receiving the money from Reyes, Belarma went upstairs to get the stuff when Moises arrived and offered the victim to buy his stolen but expensive cellular phone at a cheaper price. Edd Reyes
When the victim told Moises he wanted to see the mobile phone, the suspect invited him to go with him outside.
However, upon reaching the small alley of Estrella Street, two unidentified cohorts of Moises suddenly appeared and declared a heist but the victim tried to resist, prompting the suspects to shoot him in the neck. After robbing the victim of his money amounting to P1,100, the suspects fled to an unknown direction.
