Druggies defy COVID-19

AUTHORITIES seized more than P.3 million worth of shabu from three suspected drug peddlers, including a woman, in a buy-bust operation Monday afternoon in Caloocan City.

Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan identified the arrested suspects as Jonas Cruz alias “Jonas”, 24, of 147 Francisco St., Danalyn Dabu, 39, of 144 B, 9th Ave., Bgy. 63 and Norby Remellete, 39, of 135, P. Galauran all in Caloocan City.

Gen. Ylagan said the arrest of the suspects was the result of the drug sting conducted by District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) led by P/Capt. Ramon Aquiatan, Jr., under the supervision of P/Lt. Col. Giovanni Hycenth Calliao at around 5 p.m. inside Dabu’s house in Bgy. 63.

Police recovered from the suspects 11 medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 50 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P340.000 the P500 marked buy-bust money and three units mobile phones.

Gen. Ylagan said the arrested suspects were presented before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings for violation of Section 5 of sale of dangerous drugs, section 11 or possession of dangerous drug and section 26 or conspiracy under Article II of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
