A DRUNK security guard who threatened to stab and kill anyone who passed by in front of him landed in a hospital after his supposed victim fought back Friday afternoon in Pasay city.

Ariel Laurente, 45, of 206 I. Reyes St Bgy. 119 was rushed to Pasay City General Hospital for treatment of stab wound on his left under arm while his supposed victim, identified as Roderick Calma, 46, jobless of 208 I. Reyes St. voluntarily surrendered to the responding barangay officials after the incident.

Pasay City Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) head P/Capt. Allan Valdez said that prior to the stabbing, Laurente, while under the influence of liquor, was shouting on top of his voice around 4:40 p.m. along I. Reyes St. while armed with a bladed weapon and threatened to kill anyone who passed by the area.

When Calma, who was on his way home passed in front of Laurente, the latter blocked his path and with no apparent reason attacked and stabbed him but the former was able to evade the thrust and fought back.

A scuffle for the possession of the bladed weapon ensued between the two until Calma was able to take the knife and stabbed Laurente once, hitting him on his left under arm.
