A former barangay kagawad and surrenderer under “Oplan Tokhang”, who survived an ambush two years ago by motorcycle-riding suspects, was arrested following a raid on his house in Pasig City which yielded illegal drugs yesterday morning.
In a report submitted to EPD director Senior Supt. Bernabe Balba, suspect Randy Remuko, 43, former barangay kagawad of Bagong Ilog, was nabbed in his residence at 784 Dela Paz St., Bgy. Caniogan, by combined members of Eastern Police District-District Special Operations Unit (EPD-DSOU) and Pasig police headed by Senior Supt. Rizalito Gapas at 11 a.m.
The raid was made to confiscate loose firearms allegedly being concealed in the house of the suspect.
Armed with a search warrant for violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of firearms, operatives swooped down on the area but turned negative. Instead they seized two medium sachets of shabu (11 grams) worth P22,000.
Charges of violation of RA 9165 were filed against the suspect before the Pasig City Prosecutors’ Office.
