A former detainee for theft charges was arrested again after he allegedly touched the private parts of a Grade 10 student while onboard a passenger jeepney in San Juan City, Thursday morning.

In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba by San Juan police chief Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes, the suspect was identified as Rolando Villasor Jr., construction worker, of 429 Gen. Malvar St., Bgy. Batis, San Juan City.

Reyes said Villasor was nabbed based on the complaint of a certain Lisa (not her real name), 15, of Sta. Mesa, Manila.

The victim told PO3 Golda Marie Jaug of the San Juan Police Women’s and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) that she was on her way to school on board a passenger jeepney along F. Blumentritt St. in Bgy. Kabayanan, San Juan City at 7 a.m. when the incident happened.

She said that before boarding the vehicle, she noticed that the suspect was staring at her after which he also boarded the vehicle and sat beside her. Suddenly, she felt the suspect was touching her private parts.

The girl resisted and hurriedly got off the vehicle.

The victim saw a motorcycle rider, identified as one Jovito Merced Jr., 47, a government employee,  and sought his help in reporting the incident to the police.

A team from San Juan Police Community Precint (PCP-3) headed by Senior Insp. Cresencio Jao immediately responded and spotted the suspect onboard the jeepney.

The suspect tried to escape but was cornered and arrested after a brief chase.

According to Reyes, Villasor is a known thief in the area, victimizing jeepney passengers.

Based on record, he was locked up at the San Juan City jail for theft and was released six months ago after he served his sentence.

The suspect is now back in jail after being charged with acts of lasciviousness in relation to violation of RA 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse.
