Ex-drug surrenderer arrested for pushing in San Juan raid on her house

October 26, 2018

A former surrenderer who returned to drug pushing was nabbed by members of San Juan Police following a raid on her  house in San Juan City which resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs early yesterday morning.

In a report submitted to Easter Plice District (EPD) director Senior Supt. Bernabe Balba by San Juan police chief Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes, suspect Vanessa Nuyda, 26, was collared by combined members of the Intelligence Unit headed by Senior Insp. Gerry Boy Napagal and Station Drug Enforcement  Unit (SDEU) head  Jonathan Dionisio Santiago inside her residence at No. 1 Pablo St., Bgy. Batis, at around 12 am.

According to Reyes, the operation was conducted based on the information about rampant illegal drug trade in the area and continuous drug peddling activities of Nuyda.

Armed with search warrant issued by Executive Judge Danilo  Cruz, Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC ) Branch 152 for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, operatives swooped down on the area.

The raiding team seized 21 sachets of suspected illegal drugs with an estimated street value of P21,000 placed inside a cabinet.

According to Reyes, Nuyda is a notorious drug pusher in the area who have been involved in illegal activities for so long based on validation of the police. She is listed on the San Juan Police Station’s drug watchlist.

Nuyda surrendered under  “Oplan Tokhang” in 2016 but failed to undergo the community based-drug rehabilitation program, “Rehab sa Barangay”, a project of the city government for users and pushers who voluntarily surrendered to authorities.

Reyes added that selling drugs is Nuyda’s long-time “family business” and he has been  into illegal drug trade since 2013.

Nuyda was the prime target of San Juan police for quite some time now and has been the subject of previous buy-bust attempts.

Her father was arrested in 2015 while her mother and sister were nabbed in 2017 in a buy-bust operation in Bgy.  Batis.

After her family members were arrested, the female pusher stopped her operation and was out of the circulation for a while to avoid arrest.

However, police received an information that she returned to her usual business of selling illegal drugs early this year.

Nuyda sourced her supply of the illegal drugs from Quiapo, Manila.

The arrested suspect is now detained at the San Juan City dolice detention cell, facing charges of violation of Violation of Sec 11 of RA 9165.
