A 19-year-old factory worker was shot and wounded by his neighbor after their heated altercation Friday evening in Caloocan City.
Joshua Tablate, of Lot 1581 Gimilina, Bgy. 171, Bagumbong, was rushed by his relatives to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital for treatment of bullet wounds in both legs while suspect Ruel Lategio immediately fled after the incident.
Caloocan police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdie Del Rosario said prior to the shooting, the victim and his aunt were on a motorcycle on their way home around 11 p.m when they passed by the group of Lategio who were having a drinking spree on the side of the road along Gimilina Street.
Lategio allegedly poured a glass of wine on the victim’s path prompting Tablate to stop and confront the former which resulted in a fistfight.
When cooler heads pacified the two, the victim and his aunt went home, but Lategio, who was already armed with a handgun, followed them and shot the victim twice, hitting him in both legs.
