Foreign gambling addict hangs self

A STILL unidentified foreigner allegedly addicted to gambling was found dead hanging from a tree along Roxas Boulevard yesterday morning in Pasay city.

​Pasay city police chief of investigators P/Lt. Allan Valdez said the victim, described as about 40 to 45 years old, wearing red and blue polo shirt, denim pants and white rubber shoes was discovered at around 5 a.m. hanging from a tree branch by a nylon cord looped around his neck in front of Cuneta Astrodome.

​Bystanders in the area told police that the victim was addicted to gambling and after losing all his money, he was frequently seen roaming around Pasay City Sports Complex and seemed to be depressed.

​Police recovered beside the victim’s body his wrist watch and a suicide note saying “No family, no siblings and no friends”.

​Investigators are still conducting a follow-up probe for possible identification of the victim whose body was temporarily transferred to Rizal Funeral Homes for the conduct of an autopsy.
