AN alleged member of the ‘Bahala na Gang’ was killed during a buy-bust operation inside the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) in Sta. Cruz, Manila the other day.
P/Capt. Henry Navarro, chief of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section, identified the victim as Reynaldo Pascual, alias ‘Ulo,’ 44, of 934 Z.P. de Guzman Street in Quiapo, Manila.
Investigation showed that at around 4:30 p.m., operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the MPD- Station 3 conducted the said operation against the suspect on 9th Street near the corner of Avenue B inside the Manila North Cemetery, after police received information regarding the suspect’s alleged illegal activities.
A cop reportedly posed as a buyer and was able to purchase P500 worth of shabu from Pascual, who signalled his fellow operatives to effect his arrest.
Pascual, however, sensed that the buyer was a cop so that he allegedly fired his gun, prompting the police to shoot back, hitting the suspect fatally.
Police recovered from the scene seven sachets of shabu, P500 buy-bust money, a .38 caliber revolver and spent shells.
