Gun trafficker falls in Pasay sting

A MEMBER of a gun trafficking syndicate was arrested in a buy-bust operation Thursday evening in Pasay City.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-NCR chief Lieutenant Colonel Arnold Thomas C. Ibay identified the suspect as Wilson Kho Bolante, of Block 10, Lot 9, Phase 1, Gardenvillas in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

The suspect was arrested during an entrapment operation at the parking lot of Mall of Asia in Pasay City conducted by members of the CIDG Eastern Field Office headed by Lt. Col. Arnold Moleta, the Southern CIDG and the National Capital Region Police Office Regional Intelligence Division led by Captain Narrolf Tan past 9 p.m.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were one Bushmaster M-4 automatic rifle; one M4 Vltor assault rifle, a PNP athletic t-shirt; a rifle bag, two M-4 magazines, a cell phone he used in making transactions with the undercover officer and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

Ibay said the suspect was a member of the ‘Nido Group’ engaged in the sale of unlicensed firearms in Metro Manila.
