A DRIVER was killed in an ambush while he was driving a van with his two companions Friday evening in Pasay City.
The victim, identified as Jose Rubia, was driving a black Mecedez Benz van with two unidentified companions at around 7:46 p.m. along Saint Escolastica Street, Bgy. 13 when two men on a motorcycle with license plate number NF 85980 drove close to the van driver and shot the victim.
Pasay city police chief P/Col. Erickson Dilag said the victim, though fatally wounded, managed to ram the van into the roadside wall pinning the suspects’ motorcycle.
However, the suspects managed to escape on foot while the victim’s companion, for fear of their lives, immediately alighted from the vehicle and ran, leaving behind the bloodied victim.
Col. Dilag said responding Pasay City Rescue Team declared the victim dead on the spot from bullet wounds in the body.
The motive behind the killing is yet to be determined while a follow-up operation for identification and arrest of the suspects is ongoing.
