RIDING-in-tandem criminals shot dead a 46-year-old businessman engaged in the delivery of live hogs Friday afternoon in Malabon City.

Rolando Ruado of 16-19 Interior Sanciango, Bgy. Catmon died on the spot from single bullet wound in the nape while the still unidentified suspects fled towards unknown direction.

Malabon police homicide investigators SPO1 Alexander dela Cruz and PO3 Roldan Angeles said the victim was driving his hog service tricycle with six minors on board and traversing along M.H. Del Pilar St., Bgy Maysilo at around 3:30 p.m. when the suspects, on board a single motorcycle blocked his path in front of Denstar Hardware.

The back rider drew a caliber .45 pistol and shot the victim once in the nape in front of his minor passengers, killing him instantly

Malabon police chief Senior Supt. Jessie Tamayao immediately ordered elements of Police Community Precinct (PCP) 1 to conduct a follow-up operation but they failed to identify and arrest the suspects.

The victim’s wife Josephine Ruado told police investigators that her husband had no known enemy other than a certain SPO2 Percival Baldemoro, assigned at the Navotas police, who had personal grudge against her husband after they engaged in a heated verbal tussle last December 31.

Police said they are not considering SPO2 Baldemoro as suspect in the crime but only as a person of interest since his name was mentioned by the victim’s husband.

Senior Supt. Tamayao is confident that SPO2 Baldemoro will be willing to be questioned to clear his name.
