AN alleged illegal gun dealer and his cohort were arrested by authorities along with 12 others, including three minors, who were caught in the act of sniffing shabu Tuesday afternoon in Navotas City.
In his report to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Guillermo Eleazar, Northern Police District (NPD) director Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan identified the arrested gun dealer as Jhulius Simporios, 24, and his cohort Jhon Marlon Sabar, 19, both of Dulong Hernandez St., Bgy. Catmon, Malabon City.
Investigation showed that at around 1 p.m., elements of District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) conducted a buy-bust operation against Simporios in an unnumbered house at Market 3, Navotas Fish Port Complex, Navotas City.
When the suspect handed a caliber .45 pistol with magazine loaded with six ammunition to PO1 Boy Afable who acted as poseur-buyer in exchange for P15,000 “budol” money, operatives immediately placed him under arrest after failing to present necessary documents authorizing him to carry, possess or sell firearm.
During the operation, policemen were able to see a group of individuals inside an unnumbered house while having pot session, prompting them to arrest the suspects, identified as Jaime Tumpang, 51, Alexis Basaya, 29, Jayson Gonzales, 33, Nestor Semafia Jr., 31, Nelson Sardefia, 44, Edwin Lazos, 19, Edgar Tugano, 34, Judyann Lafuente, 21, Jomel Simporios, 19 and three minors aged, 15 and 16.
Operatives recovered from the suspects 59 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing 25 grams with an estimated street value of P100,000 and several drug paraphernalia with traces of shabu.
