THE Quezon City government has allotted P2 million for informal settler families (ISFs) in two barangays which will be affected by expansion projects.
City Resolution 7735-2019 has authorized Mayor Herbert Bautista to extend financial aid amounting over P2 million to 419 affected but verified ISFs occupying sites in Brgys. Project 6 and Bagong Pag-asa where new hospital buildings will rise.
These ISFs occupying a portion of the two barangays will be displaced when the construction of a new Philippine Children’s Medical center starts.
According to Bautista, the area is classified as non-residential and considered high risk due to its blighted condition and absence of roads.
“To provide them with something to start with the resettlement site, there is a need for the LGU-QC to allocate and extend financial assistance to the 419 ISFs in the amount of P2,095,000 or an equivalent amount of P5,000 per ISF,” the resolution reads.
