Isko offers free CP app which tells if COVID-19 carrier nearby

A FREE, new cellphone app that would tell you if there’s a COVID-19 positive or PUI (person under investigation) nearby.

This, according to Mayor Isko Moreno, is what the city government now offers to all Manilans, for them to know how to take care of themselves or help those who need medical attention, wherever they may be, including oneself.

In his live public address, Moreno said that the new app is freely given to the city and is aimed at strengthening the city’s capability on contact tracing, health condition reporting and social distancing.

“You all need to participate and register with ‘manila.staysafe.ph’ which you may download sa ios and Google play. I-download sa  personal computer, IOS or android phone. I-register n’yo lang ang inyong number at bibigyan kayo ng PIN, input the pin at ‘wag magaalala dahil compliant po ito sa Republic Act 10173 or the Data Privacy Act,” Moreno said.

He further explained that the app has the capacity to scan and relay information or real-time data if there is a COVID-19 patient within a 300-meter radius, whether that patient is a confirmed case, a PUI or suspect, or probable.

The mayor said it is necessary to download the said app if one is interested in knowing if he is already possibly exposing himself to an infected person.

Apart from this, one will also be able to receive heath tips as to how he can boost his health and the tips will be provided by authorities on the matter.

Through the app, one may also ask for help in case he feels he has the coronavirus symptoms or knows anyone who may need medical help.

Please help us help you,” Moreno said.
