Isko urges utility firms to finish projects, to test employees

May 20, 2020

BASIC utility companies were urged by Mayor Isko Moreno to take the current situation as an opportunity to finish their construction operations which were interrupted by the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Moreno particularly urged Meralco and Maynilad to continue their operations while the streets are not so filled with traffic yet.
Meanwhile, Moreno also urged businesses that are preparing to resume operations to test their employees for COVID-19 for safety purposes.

Manila, he said, is also resuming construction works particularly of its projects aimed at benefiting the poor.
The establishment of more quarantine facilities is also being undertaken in preparation for the days and months to come.
Moreno said the city government is preparing for a possible increase of COVID cases specially once the modified ECQ is lifted.
