THE donations to the city of Manila since Mayor Isko Moreno assumed mayorship last year has already reached P21.7 million.

Moreno said he intends to use the said donations for the city government’s planned vertical housing projects for informal settlers, public health facilities and other city projects for the less-privileged.

It was learned that the donations came from Filipinos all over the world, including among others, immigrants abroad, overseas Filipino workers, students and even children who simply want to help as soon as they learn of Moreno’s projects from the media.

All donations, no matter how small, are automatically turned over to city treasurer Jasmin Talegon for proper accounting.

Talegon said the funds were accumulated donations to the city since July 2019 and came from Filipinos who express satisfaction on how Manila is being run presently and who have faith in the new administration.

For his part, Moreno thanked all those who have made the donations, even as more keep pouring in.

Moreno bared the list of the donations made to the city and said that these will be put to good use.
