Jobless man yields P.3M shabu

“TRY to find other jobs appropriate for your skills and talents, not on illegal activities”

This was the appeal of Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta following the arrest of a jobless man who sold a pack of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation conducted by authorities Thursday afternoon in Makati city.

The arrest of John Paul Matela, 32 of 3385 A. Mabini St. Bgy. Poblacion resulted in the recovery of 27 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 50 grams of shabu with a standard drug price worth P340,000 and the marked money worth P1,000.

Gen. Peralta said earlier at around 2:15 p.m., elements of Makati Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Intelligence operatives under the direct supervision of city police chief P/Col. Oscar Jacildo conducted at buy-bust operation against the suspect at the corner of Gil Puyat and Makati Avenues, Bgy. Poblacion that resulted in the arrest of an alleged notorious drug peddler.

Police said the seized items were turned over to the National Headquarters Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while charges for violation of selling and possession of illegal drugs under R.A 9165 will be filed against the arrested suspect before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
