A SUSPECTED drug pusher also said to be the principal suspect in the shooting death of a 17-year-old girl was killed in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Manila Police District (MPD) in Tondo, Manila early yesterday morning.
Manila Police District (MPD) director B/Gen. Vicente Danao identified the suspect as Jed Ayson, 46, of Building 24, Permanent Housing, Balut, Tondo.
It was learned that Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) operatives from the MPD-Raxabago Station 11 conducted the buy-bust operation at Building 18, Permanent Housing, Tondo.
Instead of surrendering however, the suspect reportedly opted to resist, prompting the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) team to neutralize him.
MPD-Station1 chief, Col. Reynaldo Magdaluyo said the suspect fired his gun first, prompting the police to shoot back.
The said suspect, according to the police , had also been identified as the one who shot to death 17-year-old Ronalyn Jamon of H. Lopez Boulevard in Tondo at around 3:45 a.m. on April 17. She was reportedly mistaken for a customer who had failed to settle her debts.
Ayson was positively identified by a witness as the one who killed the victim, via a CCTV footage of the said murder.
Police recovered from the suspect a 380 Browning short firearm with five live bullets, a spare magazine loaded with seven bullets, seven .9mm, ammunition and a deformed slug.
Also seized from him were seven sachets of shabu which were found in his pants’ pockets, shoes and pouch.
