A businesswoman was shot dead by still unidentified gunman while two others were injured after they were hit by stray bullets Wednesday evening in Taguig City.
Rowena Calderon of 30 A. Reyes St. Bgy. New Lower Bicutan succumbed to bullet wounds in the chest while Lucile Bugarin, 38, and Rosemarie Ormita, 41, were rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for treatment of bullet wounds.
Taguig police chief P/Col. Alexander Santos said the incident happened at around 7:25 p.m. in front of the slain victim’s store along A. Reyes T. Bgy. New Lower Bicutan.
The victims were having a conversation when one of the two men, with drawn gun, appeared and shot Calderon repeatedly, hitting her in the chest while Bugarin was hit in her right lower leg and Ormita on her right foot.
After the killing, the suspects immediately fled on foot towards an unknown direction while the victims were rushed by their relatives to the nearest hospital.
Police are still conducting a follow-up operation for possible identification and arrest of the suspects while the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
