THE Las Pinas City Government will start this week the distribution of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to more than 67,000 qualified families in the city affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to the outbreak of corona virus disease (COVID)-19.
Las Pinas Mayor Imelda “Mhel” Aguilar said the local City Social Welfare Development (CSWD), led by its head Junet Barilla was able to approve the distribution of SAP to 67,738 families out of 82,232 families submitted by 20 barangay officials.
However, the list of families who were disapproved during validation by the local CSWD, will be submitted to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) so they will be able to receive from the national government corresponding assistance under the ECQ.
Barilla said the city government is still in the process of planning to provide necessary assistance to families who were disapproved to receive SAP from the local government as a relief from their hardship during the time of crisis.
At present, the validation of approved list of families is still ongoing before providing them a SAP card.
The CSWD said that once the SAP form was distributed and filled up by approved families, payroll will be made immediately.
