Man, 52, slain over old grudge

A man was stabbed dead by his neighbor over an old grudge while his step daughter was wounded when she tried to intervene yesterday morning in Parañaque City.

Danilo Roda, 52, of Alcantara Compound, Sitio Nazareth, Valley 6, Bgy. San Isidro died on the spot from multiple stab wounds in the body while Julia Leopoldo, 21, was rushed to Las Piñas Doctor’s Hospital for treatment of stab wounds in the body.

Parañaque police chief P/Col. Rogelio Rosales said his men were able to arrest the suspect identified as Roberto Francisco, 56, during a follow-up operation.

Investigation showed that while Roda and his step- daughter were inside their house, the suspect, who bore grudge against the victim, called the latter and challenged him to fight at around 6:30 in the morning.

When the victim went outside to confront the suspect, the latter pulled out a bladed weapon and repeatedly stabbed him in the body.

The victim’s step daughter who heard the commotion went outside and tried to intervene but the suspect turned his ire on her and stabbed her in the body.

Col. Rosales said the suspect yielded a Colt caliber .45 pistol, and one magazine loaded with seven pieces of live ammunition when his men collared him.
