Man held for blast threat

POLICE arrested a man who threatened to lob a molotov cocktail in the neighborhood Tuesday evening in Malabon City.

Ronald Reyes, 31 of Bgy. Potrero was arrested by elements of Malabon Police Community Precinct (PCP) 2 after his neighbors sought police assistance when he went berserk while holding a Molotov bomb and torch lighter at around 6:30 p.m. along East Riverside, Bgy. Potrero.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said the suspect, for still unknown reason, went amok, challenging anyone to a fistfight, but when no one accepted the challenge, he pulled a Molotov cocktail from a blue sack he was carrying and threatened to throw it in the neighborhood.

The timely arrival of operatives from PCP-2 who used necessary force to subdue him.

Col. Tamayao said that aside from a bottle bomb and a torch lighter the suspect was holding, two other Molotov cocktails placed inside the sack he was carrying were recovered by police.

Charges for alarm and scandal and illegal possession of explosives will be filed by police against the suspect before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
