AUTHORITIES are now hunting down a person under police protective custody (PUPC) following his escape from the hospital in Taguig where he was brought for treatment of high fever, police reported yesterday.

Christopher Tyrone Ramirez, 45, of 195 P.D. Cruz St. Bgy. Tuktukan was arrested last March 27 for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act and was detained at the Taguig Police Custodial Facility.

On April 2, he was rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital after complaining of high fever and severe pain on both legs due to boils (pigsa) and was confined for medical treatment.

Last Friday at 9 a.m., elements of Taguig Police Sub Station 1 received a call from the personnel of the hospital informing them Ramirez was already missing in his ward.

Upon learning of the incident, Custodial Facility personnel were deployed at his given address and to nearby barangays to track him down while elements of Intelligence Section formed a tracker team to locate his whereabouts but proved futile.
