A 33-year-old man died while his companion was critically wounded when they were peppered with bullets by riding-in-tandem criminals in an ambush yesterday morning in Valenzuela City.

Eduardo Berangberang of No. 8 Narcisa St. Bgy. Canumay East died on the spot from bullet wounds in the head and body while Ranny Cainday was rushed to Valenzuela Medical Center where he was placed under observation due to gunshot wounds in the body.

Initial report by Valenzuela police homicide investigator P/SSgt Regor Germedia showed that while the victims, on board a color gray Suzuki car driven by Cainday, were travelling along Dulalia Street Bgy. Lingunan heading towards Lawang Bato flyover at around 10:30 a.m., two men on board a single motorcycle peppered them with bullets in front of Panday Metal Corp.

Police believed that Cainday was able to return fire after they recovered a caliber .45 pistol from the car’s floor on the driver’s seat.
