Man stabbed dead for defending partner

A 36-YEAR-OLD man was allegedly stabbed dead by his neighbor who initially kicked his live-in partner after an argument on Monday afternoon in Quezon City.

The victim identified as Artagnan Jonel Barros,  a resident of No. 11 Dama De Noche, Barangay Payatas, Quezon City was declared dead on arrival at the Rosario Maclang Bautista Hospital due to two multiple stab wounds in the body.

His alleged attacker identified as Joshua Capariño, 20 years-old, a resident of No. 88 Dama De Noche Street, Barangay Payatas, Quezon City was held under police custody.

A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD-CIDU) showed that the incident happened at around 2:20 pm along IBP Road near corner Ilang-Ilang Street, Bgy. Payatas, Quezon City.

Investigation showed that prior to the incident, the suspect reportedly kicked Merilie Burgos, the victim’s live in partner, during a heated argument.

Burgos went home and immediately told the incident to her live in partner who in turn confronted the suspect.

It resulted to a fist fight but they were eventually pacified by their neighbors.

However, as the victim was walking on his way home, the suspect reportedly hurled glass bottles on him.

Another fist fight erupted between the victim and the suspect.

At the height of their altercation, a neighbor identified only as a certain alias Boboy Confiado handed a sword knife to the suspect.

Several witnesses told the police that the suspect stabbed the victim more than twice in the body.

The victim was rushed to the said hospital but to no avail.
