A jobless man was killed after he was repeatedly stabbed by his roommate who allegedly bore a grudge against him Tuesday night in Valenzuela City.
Ricky Abayan, 28, of 4367 L. Bernardino Street, Gen. T. De Leon, was rushed by his neighbors to Valenzuela Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. David Nicolas Poklay said the suspect, identified as Nilo Pulgo, escaped after the killing and is now the object of police manhunt.
Investigation conducted by homicide investigators PO2 Jeff Bautista and PO2 Regimard Manabat showed that the victim, while carrying an empty bottle of liquor, was walking along L. Barnardino Street on his way to a nearby store at around 10:20 p.m. when the suspect, armed with a bladed weapon, approached him and without a word stabbed him repeatedly in the body.
Though wounded, the victim managed to run away from the suspect but later fell down on the pavement after losing consciousness.
Elements of Valenzuela police Follow-Up Unit conducted a follow-up operation but failed to arrest the suspect.
