QUEZON City police have arrested the suspect in the alleged sexual and physical abuse of a nine-year old-girl found hogtied and bleeding under Mapandan Bridge along Ortigas Avenue extension in Bgy. San Juan, Cainta, Rizal, last February 25.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Joselito T Esquivel Jr. identified the suspect as Pepito Tagal, 39 years ol, residing at No. 237 J.P. Rizal St., Project 4, Quezon City.
After obtaining information from a witness and based on the testimony of the victim, a follow-up operation was conducted by operatives of QCPD PS 7 led by PSupt. Giovanni Hycenth Caliao and the Cainta Municipal Police headed by PSupt. Alvin Ruby Consolacion that led to the arrest of the suspect at about 11:51 PM, February 26, 2019, at No. 515 Nicolas Compound, Boni Serrano Ave., near corner 20thAve. Brgy. San Roque, Cubao.
Tagal was identified by a witness as the same person who abducted the victim at around 9 a.m. last February 25, at 42 Sitio Batasin, Bgy. San Juan, Taytay, Rizal.
A concerned citizen found the victim was discovered hogtied and bleeding under the Mapandan Bridge along Ortigas Avenue extension, Brookside Subdvision hours later.
The suspect was brought to the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Cainta Municipal Police Station and face possible charges of Rape and violation of R.A. 7610 or Child Abuse Law.
Esquivel commended the operatives for the swift arrest of the suspect. He reminded the parents to be watchful of their children at all times to avoid similar incidents.
He also warned those involved in criminal activities to stop as the long arm of the law will catch them.
