A 37-YEAR-OLD woman was shot dead by a masked man while walking on her way home yesterday morning in Tondo, Manila.
Declared on arrival in the hospital for a lone gunshot wound in the head was Jennylyn Marcos, of Int. 51 Raxabago, Dagupan Ext., Tondo.
The unidentified suspect escaped. A report from the Manila Police District (MPD)- Jose Abad Santos Police Station 7 (PS-7) said the incident occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Raxabago, Dagupan Extension in Tondo.
The victim was said to be walking when the suspect blocked her path and shot her in the head at close range.
Over in Las Pinas City ,police arrested a security guard after he shot with his service shot gun a construction worker following their heated altercation Sunday afternoon.
Elements of Las Piñas Police Sub-Station 1 nabbed Eduardo Sta. Clara, 50, security guard of Great Rock Security Agency and presently assigned Multi-B Construction Site in Pinaglabanan, Basa 1, Bgy. Zapote after he shot Emilio Carriedo, stay-in worker at around 5:15 p.m. inside the construction site.
Carriedo was rushed by his co-workers to the nearest hospital where he was placed in critical condition due to a lone gunshot wound in the chest.
Witness Edwin Leodones, 46, and Freddie Quijano, 45, both stay-in construction workers told police investigators that they noticed the ongoing argument between the victim and the suspect before the latter got his service shot gun inside their barracks and shot Carriedo, hitting him in the chest.
