METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Jose Arturo “Jojo” Garcia announced yesterday that he was found positive for corona virus disease (COVID) 19.
“I wish to inform everyone that I will have to work from home as i have been found positive for COVID-19. My work puts me under a lot of risk, and this is part of it. I embrace this challenge with full trust and faith in God that I will overcome the same with your prayers” Garcia said in his official statement released to media yesterday.
Garcia, who has been experiencing dry cough decided to go on quarantine last March 23, along with the agency’s spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, after they discovered that one of the participants in the meeting they earlier attended on March 17 was found positive for the killer disease.
He later submitted himself for COVID testing until he was informed of the result last Friday.
Garcia and Pialago later advised all those that they had contact with to go on self-quarantine or submitted themselves for COVID testing especially those who had been experiencing symptoms of the killer disease.
