MORE policemen were deployed to the streets to safeguard people attending “Simbang Gabi’ (Christmas dawn mass) in various Churches in Quezon City.
According to QC Police District Director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel, he already ordered all the 12 station commanders to deploy additional men in areas of convergence like transportation terminals, malls, business establishments including churches especially with the start of daily dawn masses or the “Simbang Gabi.”
He said a number of bloody incidents involving teenagers were recorded in previous years during the “Simbang Gabi” in some places of QC.
The QC commander also appealed to the public to always be vigilant against suspicious-looking persons while shopping.
Although he directed his men to strengthen security for the Christmas season, Esquivel said that this does not mean that operations against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality would lay low.
