Richard Abarquez, 47, of No. 2020 Revellin St., Sta. Ana, Manila, was rushed to the Philippune General Hospital to no avail.
Prober P/Staff Sgt. John Teody Siguen of the homicide section said that Abarquez died of infections caused by sepsis and meningococcemia and respiratory failure.
Initial investigation showed that the detainee was jailed on drug charges following his arrest on March 28, 2020.
While detained, he developed rashes in different parts of the body until on April 8, he complained of breathing difficulty.
Sources said he had to be transferred from one hospital to another after being refused, until he was taken in by the PGH where he was declared dead on arrival.
