MPD files raps vs 41 ECQ violators

THE Manila Police District (MPD) is putting more teeth into the orders of the national government for everybody to follow the enhanced community quarantine amid the coronavirus situation.

Yesterday, the MPD filed charges against 41 individuals netted in what it calls, ‘Oplan Bandillo.’

The said 41 individuals were charged with violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (resistance and disobedience to person in authority in relation to Proclamation 922, sec. 4 declaring  a state  of public health emergency throughout the Philippines)  and violation of the curfew ordinance  before the  Manila Prosecutors’ Office.

​It was learned that the MPD conducted the operation in Sta. Ana, Tondo and Sta. Cruz, Manila from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. the other day.

​Of the total number, 29 were found just loitering on the streets while 12 were caught in violation of the curfew ordinance.
