DESPITE lack of hotels, the City Government of Navotas has provided accommodations to the city’s health workers.
The city has made the Navotas Institute Annex II at Bgy. Daanghari as temporary shelter for doctors, nurses and staff of the Navotas City Hospital who are living outside Navotas.
The room allotted for doctors has five queen-sized beds, while the quarters for nurses and hospital administrative staff are set-up with spa beds and inflatable beds.
“We are grateful for the sacrifices of our health workers. They are putting their lives at stake as they continue to serve Navoteños and keep up the fight against the Corona Virus Disease 2019. We hope to ease their burden by providing them an accessible and comfortable place to rest and regain their strength,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.
“I call on all Navoteños: let us help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Stay home. This is the least we can do to help those in the frontlines,” he added.
At present, Navotas has 119 persons under monitoring (PUMs) and 26 persons under investigation (PUIs) who are under quarantine or admitted at the Navotas City Hospital. Of five PUI deaths, one came out positive, one negative and three are awaiting test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.
