AGENTS of the National Capital Region Police Office on Wednesday arrested two Chinese-Filipino citizens accused of hoarding medical supplies and selling them at a much higher price during an entrapment operation in Binondo, Manila, NCRPO director, Major General Debold M. Sinas announced yesterday.
Sinas identified the two as Jun Martin Lim,22, a resident of 1502 Bambang Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila and Nina Ong,38, a merchandise caretaker from no. 19-A Fortune Palace Condominium in Juan Luna Street in Binondo.
According to the official, combined operatives of the NCRPO Regional Special Operations Group and the Manila Police District and the Department of Trade and Industry launched the sting at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the HS Commercial Tower Condominum in Alvarado Street following reports that the accused were involved in hoarding and profiteering.
Recovered during the sting were 11 boxes each containing 650 pieces of face masks, six boxes containing 6,000 pairs of latex examination gloves, three boxes containing 127 pieces of surgical suits, nine boxes containing 355 pieces of infrared thermometer, five boxes containing 230 disposable masks and the P1 million worth of boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.
