NCRPO placed under full alert

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director, Major General Debold M. Sinas yesterday placed the entire Metro Manila police force under full alert status as part of their preparations to implement a month-long ‘community quarantine’ in the metropolis to help contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19.

Sinas upgraded the NCRPO’s alert status to full alert from heightened alert effective 1 a.m. yesterday following President Duterte’s announcement to implement measures to contain the spread of the deadly virus which include banning mass gatherings, extending class suspensions and imposing a ‘localized community quarantine’ for areas with confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Deadly threats posed by the NCOV-19 virus earlier prompted the Philippine National Police leadership to temporarily suspend all its major activities including its Tuesday and Thursday ‘Pulisteniks’ aimed at keeping members of the 205,000-strong force in shape in line with General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa’s BMI program.
