A MAN said to be using his water refilling station as a ‘front’ his illegal drug trafficking was arrested by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit during a buy-bust operation Thursday afternoon in Old Balara, Quezon City.
Ronald Pineda alias ‘Kuto’, of No. 13 Kamagong Street, Feria Road in Barangay Old Balara, and his cohort Dante Destura were arrested after they conspired to sell drugs to an undercover officer of the NCRPO-RDEU at Pineda’s house at around 3:30p.m.
Recovered from the suspects were 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 and the marked money.
NCRPO chief Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said they have discovered that the suspect was using his water refilling station as “front” for his illegal drug activities.
“We have found out that while the suspect delivers water to his customers, he also sells and deliver shabu to his clients on the side,” Eleazar said.
The NCRPO chief said that a background check showed that Pineda, who also has a house in Bgy. Pacundo, Pasay City, had been arrested twice by members of the Pasay City Police Station in 2008 for separate drug-related offenses but was released upon orders of the court.
Meanwhile, Caloocan police yesterday dismantled a suspected drug den following the arrest of six suspected drug personalities who were about to conduct a shabu session.
Caloocan police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdie Del Rosario the elements of Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 3 were patrolling the area when a concerned citizen approached them and reported the alleged illegal activities of the suspects at an unnumbered house at around 2 a.m.
When frisked, the suspects yielded six transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu while several pieces of drug paraphernalia with traces of suspected shabu were recovered inside the alleged drug den.
In San Juan, by San Juan Police chief Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes said Jude Nuqui, alias Dodong, 21, of F. Roman St., Bgy. Salapan, San Juan, was arrested by teams of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by SPO1 Gerard Crisostomo in a buy-bust on J. Ruiz Street, Bgy. Salapan, at around 3:30 p.m.
The arrest came following information that the suspect publicly supplying and selling drugs in Barangay Salapan. SPO1 Crisostomo said Nuqui was a newbie drug personality in the area. The suspect said his supplier of illegal drugs was in Sta, Mesa, Manila.
In Marikina City, students Cesario Caparas, 19, of Bgy San Roque, and his 17-year-old cohort both from Bgy. Fortune, in Marikina City, were also arrested in a buy-bust and yielded 23 plastics sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves.
The Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Inspector Greco Gonzales conducted the buy-bust at No. 18 -B Sta. Ana St., in Barangay San Roque, at around 6 p.m.
The suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
