THE Navotas City Government gifted new homes to Navoteño families who previously lived by the sea or river.
Sixty Navoteño families will now celebrate Christmas in their new homes following the inauguration and blessing of NavoHomes Dagat-dagatan at Bgy. North Bay Boulevard South-Dagat-dagatan.
“A safe shelter where a family can dream and nurture their aspirations together -- that is what we want for each Navoteño family. This is why we hope to move families away from danger areas and provide them with decent and safe homes,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Cong. Toby Tiangco, on the other hand, encouraged housing beneficiaries to avail of the programs that the city government offers.
“Our local government provides scholarships, medical assistance, livelihood opportunities, among others. Take advantage of these as they are meant to help you and your family create a better tomorrow,” he said.
Navotas has five in-city housing projects that can shelter around 1,800 families, all of whom are required to take drug tests to ensure that housing communities are peaceful and crime-free.
In November, the city inaugurated five of the eight buildings of NavotaAs Homes Tanza II at Bgy. Tanza 2. The housing project can accommodate 408 families.
