Oreta to build two Super Health Centers

TWO Super Health Centers (SHC) will soon rise in Malabon.

In fact, the ground breaking of the first SHC edifice on its location at the corner of Governor Pascual Avenue and Sanciangco Street in Barangay Catmon was already done last March 28.

First of the planned two SHC to be  built in the city, the facility is meant to decongest the Out-Patient Department of  Ospital ng Malabon (OsMal), a level 1 medical institution in the city.

Mayor Oreta said he was thankful that Barangay Catmon agreed to push through with the project that is beneficial for needy Malabonians.

City Health Officer Dr. Roberto Romero said the SHC which will also be known as “Bulwagan ng Kalusugan”, which was coined by Mayor Oreta to augment services for patients in need of basic laboratory tests following clinical consultations, in addition to the regular medical attention rendered by every barangay health center.”

Dr. Romero said “X-ray, ultrasound and some basic laboratory as well as dental and pharmacy services will be available in the facility, while it shall also serve as a birthing home for expectant mothers.

“Since it will be Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) accredited, every Malabonian walk-in patient shall be entitled to benefit from its services as PhilHealth member beneficiaries,” the health officer explained.

Also present during the groundbreaking ceremonies were Pamilyang Malabonian aspirants Congresswoman Jaye Lacson-Noel, Vice Mayor Bernard Dela Cruz and other personalities vying for city council posts.

Prioritizing health welfare of his constituents, Mayor Oreta plans to establish two Super Health Centers in each of the city’s districts the soonest, with similar service capabilities.

One is to be located in Barangay Potrero, one of the most populous barangay’s in the city, where it is intended to cater to patients in the second district of Malabon.
