P1.5M shabu seized in Makati

AUTHORITIES seized at least P1.5 million worth of shabu from three big-time drug suspects, including a student, in a buy-bust operation Friday afternoon in Makati City.

Makati police chief Police  Col. Rogelio Simon identified the arrested suspects as Melvin Bulado, 21, merchandizer and resident of 3121 Gen. Garxia St., Bgy. Bangkal, John Arman Revidad, alias “Jerome,” 22, second year Business Administration student of City University of Pasay and resident of 662 Ilang-Ilang St., Bgy. 137 and Edgardo Sanchez alias “Kambal” of 1648 Belarmino St., Bgy. Bangkal.

Makati Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Lt. Jelson Vigila and Police Community Precinct (PCP) 4 led by Police  Lt. Arnel Perez conducted a buy bust operation and arrested the suspects at around 4 p.m. at the corner of M. Reyes and Belarmino Streets in Bgy. Bangkal.

As soon as the suspects handed four packs of shabu to an undercover cop in exchange for P5,000 marked money, on signal operatives of SDEU and PCP-4 pounced on the suspects who were still in their car.

When frisked, the suspects yielded three large packs and 116 small plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.5 million, a plastic sachet of dried marijuana leaves worth P2,000, caliber .40 Taurus pistol with nine live ammunition, caliber .45 magazine, mobile phone and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Charges for violation of Section 11 and Section 5 of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act will be filed against the suspects before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
