P1.7M shabu seized in Caloocan sting

THE Navotas city police and District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) of Northern Police District (NPD) seized around P1.7 million worth of shabu in separate drug stings Monday in Navotas and Caloocan cities.

Navotas city police chief P/Col. Rolando Balasabas said operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Lt. Genere Sanchez arrested Jay-R Goyay, 18, of Phase 12, Bgy. 188 Tala, Caloocan city after he handed a pack of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P500 marked money at around 10:45 p.m. along R-10 Road, Bgy. NBBN.

Col. Balasabas said operatives seized a total of 50.0 grams of shabu worth P340,000 from the suspect along with the marked money used in buy-bust operation.

Earlier at around 5:30 p.m., DDEU operatives led by Capt. Ramon Aquiatan, Jr. conducted anti-drug operation at the corner of Sabalo and Sugpo Streets, Bgy. 8 Caloocan city against three Manila based drug peddlers, including a woman, suspected to be suppliers of shabu in the cities of Navotas and Caloocan.

Operatives were able to arrest Orlan Binarao, 25 of 2760 Old Panadero St. Sta Ana, Joanna Marie Alonzo, 23, of 2829 Javier St Gagalangin, Tondo and John Jendrix Tinagan, 28, of 1567 Pedro Gil St., all from the city of Manila.

NPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan  said the operation stemmed from the recent buy-bust operation by DDEU on June 12 along Cattleya St. in Bgy. NBBN, Navotas wherein around 219 grams of shabu was seized from six arrested drug personalities.

Authorities seized from the three suspects a total of 210 grams of shabu with standard drug price amounting to P1.360,000 P35,000 marked money composed of two genuine P1,000 bill and 33 pieces of boodle money, three cellular phones and a Hyundai Gets car bearing plate number ZNZ-213.
