COMBINED agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Quezon City Police District on Saturday afternoon arrested three top drug suspects in Metro Manila after they conspired to sell 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million to an undercover officer in Novaliches, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino said.
Aquino identified the three as Karen Leal alias ‘Michelle,’ a 32-year old saleslady from Goodwill 1, San Bartolome, Novalices; John Rhens Timing,20, a construction worker and 26-year old jobless man Jason Ymalay, both residents of Duhat Street, Greenfields 1, Novaliches.
The official said that members of the PDEA National Capital Region, joined by operatives from the QCPD arrested the three during a buy-bust operation in front of a convenience store in Barangay Kaligayahan in Novaliches around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Recovered during the sting were one plastic bag containing half-a-kilo of the so-called’ poor man’s cocaine’ worth P3.4 million, the boodle money topped by several marked bills and a cell phone they used to make contact with the poseur.
The suspects are now being held at the PDEA lock-up facility in Q.C. facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
