P3.4M shabu seized from 5 suspects in Pasay buy-bust

MORE than P3 million worth of shabu was seized by joint elements of Pasay and Quezon city police from five drug personalities, including two women, in a buy-bust operation Tuesday afternoon in Pasay City.

Pasay city police chief P/Col. Erickson Dilag identified the arrested suspects as Erwin Peredo, 29, Domingo Maglaque, 46, Carolina Peredo alias “Carol, 50, all residents of 172 Santos St. Bgy. 166, Jairabelle Arandia, alyas “Madam”, 24, and Jericson Arandia, alyas “Chekwa” both of 2142 C Cruz St. Bgy. 147.

Col. Dilag said combined elements of Pasay Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Capt. Deni Mari Pedrozo with the assistance of Quezon City Police District SDEU led by P/Capt. Dennis Francisco initially conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects along Ortigas St., Quezon City but was later moved at around 5:30 p.m. at AMS Apartment located at 172 Santos St. Bgy. 166 Malibay.

When Jairabelle Arandia and Erwin Peredo handed a pack of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for 99 pieces of boodle money with one piece of P1,000 genuine bill placed inside a brown paper bag, lawmen who were on stand-by position immediately pounced on them.

Policemen recovered from the arrested suspects five knot-tied plastic sachets of shabu weighing 500 grams with an estimated street value worth P3,400,000 several pieces of drug paraphernalia and assorted cellular phones.

Charges for violation of selling, possession and conspiracy under Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
